Australian Foreign Policy in the Age of Terror

Ed By: Carl Ungerer (411.1/357440)
Publisher: UNSW Press ISBN: 978-0-868-40815

The events of 9/11 and the advent of globalised Islamic terrorism have profound implications for the form and conduct of Australian foreign policy. Australian Foreign Policy in the Age of Terror is the first comprehensive analysis of how the new international security environment is influencing specific foreign policy decisions across a number of key policy areas, including: Security, Trade, migration, Nuclear non-proliferation, Regional engagement and Development assistance.

In each of these areas the book considers two key questions: what has changed since 9/11 and what future policy directions are likely? The result is a close examination of the strategic, global and regional dimensions influencing the future conduct of Australian foreign policy in a period of growing strategic complexity and uncertainty.
